Support tips for discontinue 3G service

On April 15, 2024, Softbank terminates the 3G signal.

If you are unable to use your phone line or data sim, below are some ways to solve it.

A) Basic settings

  1. Turn off the phone and turn it on. If does not work, go to number 2.
  2. Turn off the phone, and take the SIM card once. Insert the SIM card again and turn on the phone.

B) Check if your cellphone has a recent system update

If not, please update it.

C) Check Cellular Data

             iPhone:
    1. Go to "SETTINGS", then "CELLULAR"
    2. "Cellular Data" has to be active
             ANDROID XIAOMI Redmi:
    1. Go to "SETTINGS", then "SIM cards & mobile networks"
    2. The "Mobile data" has to be on.
      *If you have 2 sim cards: The "Dual 4G" option has to be on.
      Make sure that the "Default for calls" option is set with the call sim card. The "Data SIM" option is set with the data SIM card.
             ANDROID JETFON S20:
      1. Go to "SETTINGS", then "Network & Internet", then "Sim Cards & mobile networks"
      2. "Mobile data" option has to be on
        *If you have 2 sim cards: Make sure that the "Calling" option is set with the call sim card. The "Mobile network" option is set with the data sim card.
                 ANDROID OPPO:
          1. Go to "SETTINGS", then "Mobile network"
          2. "Mobile data" option has to be on
            *If you have 2 sim cards: Make sure that the "Calling" option is set with the call sim card. The "Internet" option is set with the data sim card.

          D) Check 4G/ VoLTE

                   iPhone:

          1. Go to "SETTINGS", then "CELLULAR"
          2. Choose the SIM
          3. On "VOICE & DATA", choose 4G or 5G auto
          4. Make sure the "Data Roaming" option is turned off

                   ANDROID XIAOMI Redmi:

          1. Go to "SETTINGS", then "SIM cards & mobile networks"
          2. Choose the sim card, the  "Turn on" option has to be on.
            "Preferred network type" has to be "Prefer LTE".
            For calls sim, "Use VoLTE" option has to be on.
                   ANDROID JETFON S20:
            1. Go to "SETTINGS", then "Network & Internet", then "Sim Cards & mobile networks"
            2. Choose the sim card, "Roaming" option has to be off.
              "Preferred network type" has to be "Prefer LTE".
              ”Preferred network type” should be  4G/3G/2G.
              For calls SIM, "VoLTE enabled" option has to be on.
              "Automatically select network" has to be on.

                       ANDROID OPPO:

                1. Go to "SETTINGS", then "Mobile network"
                2. Choose the sim card, "Enable" option has to be on.
                  "Roaming" option has to be off.
                  For calls sim, "VoLTE calls" option has to be on.
                  "Preferred network type" has to be 5G/4G/3G/2G (auto) or 4G/3G/2G.

                        If there is no VoLTE option (Xiaomi / Redmi / OPPO): Enter this code as if you were calling:  *#*#86583#*#*
                        VoLTE option will appear, this option has to be on.

                E) Reset network settings

                         iPhone:

                1. Go to "SETTINGS", then "GENERAL"
                2. Then "Transfer or Reset iPhone", then "Reset"
                3. Choose "Reset network settings"
                4. Put your password then choose "Reset network settings"
                5. The iPhone will turn off, wait until it turns back on, and check if 4G appears.

                         ANDROID XIAOMI Redmi:

                1. Go to "SETTINGS", then  "Connection & sharing", then "Reset Wi-Fi, mobile networks and Bluetooth"
                2. Choose the sim card that you want to reset
                3. Then select "Reset settings" and "OK"

                         ANDROID JETFON S20:

                  1. Go to "SETTINGS", then "System", then "reset options" and then "Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth"
                  2. Choose the SIM card that you want to reset
                  3. Then select "Reset settings" and again "Reset settings"

                             ANDROID OPPO:

                      1. Go to "SETTINGS", then "System settings", then "Back up and reset", then "Reset phone", then "Reset network settings"
                      2. Choose again "Reset network settings"
